Davison Yon, born in Atlanta, Georgia, is a violinist and composer at Cleveland State University. Davison began his musical endeavors at the age of seven after hearing a performance of Stravinsky’s “Firebird Suite” performed by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Following the performance, Davison sought more information music composition and began writing shortly after.
Davison studied briefly at the Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA) before moving to Cleveland, Ohio to study at Cleveland State University. He is currently studying music education with Dr. Heather Russell, music composition with Dr. Andrew Rindfleisch, Dr. Gregory D’Alessio, and Dr. Jonathan Sokol, and private violin lessons with Kenneth Johnston. Davison is a pending member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP).
